About Me

Hi there! My name is Alannah, but my friends like to call me Lany. Two years ago I moved to Barcelona to finally realize my dream of moving abroad and living the European lifestyle. It’s been a chaotic two years since the move, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. 

For context, I was born and raised in California with Irish and Peruvian heritage. With most of my family living in Ireland and Peru, I was often traveling to visit them. From a young age I was exposed to such an interesting mix of cultures, foods and languages. This sparked my love of travel and learning more about the world. My experience with Global Glimpse in the Dominican Republic inspired me to take this love even further and study global issues. 

I ended up studying International Relations and Political Science at the University of California, Irvine. Through the UC’s study abroad program (UCEAP), I was able to study abroad at the University of Barcelona for the fall semester of 2021. My parents moved to Sitges around the same time, and I ended up having such an amazing experience that I decided to move back to Barcelona after graduating the following year. 

All my travels paired with my cultural background, university studies and being in the beautiful city of Barcelona inspired me to start this blog and share my experiences with everyone! Whether it’s through my Instagram stories or these blog posts, I always have something to share.
